The hotel is situated near the city center, the famous Kaerntnerstrasse, the state opera, the St. Stephens´ Cathedral and the Albertina. The nearest Underground station is “Karlsplatz” with the lines U1, U2, U4 and tram D and J.

The Hotel Zur Wiener Staatsoper is a welcoming, family-run city hotel offering a timeless atmosphere and modern comfort located right in the heart of Vienna. The inspiring neo-baroque building dates from 1896 and is renovated without losing the classic style of the house. Since 1977 it has been in the hands of the Ungersböck family, who have made it a family tradition to look after their guests personally.

The 22 friendly, furnished guest rooms are all equipped with shower, toilet, hairdryer, cosmetic mirror, telephone, safety-deposit box (available for a small fee), radio and SAT-TV as well as a ventilator during the summer months. The double beds feature two separate mattresses, two separate blankets and two pillows for the guests´ convenience. The double rooms are facing the street and the single rooms go to the inner court. Fine crystal lamps and real Persian carpets on the original parquet floors preserve the house´s traditional style. All rooms can be reached with the hotel lift.
