Marrakech – Morocco’s red city. A highly attractive destination for incentive trips and meetings.

This city has provide inspiration for countless creatives, including Yves Saint Laurent. The medina is a bastion of traditional Moroccan culture. 100 years old and still going strong: in 2017 we celebrated our centenary – as well as a highly successful financial year.

As Austria´s leading tourism company, the Verkehrsbüro Group reported revenue gains in all three of its businesses. In the Business Tourism segment we benefited from being a full-service provider and reaped the rewards of our internal restructuring process. An upturn in the economy and increased demand for travel gave our colleagues working in Leisure Tourism at Ruefa and Eurotours plenty to smile about. Investment activity and a trend towards city breaks are bolstering results in the hotel segment and fuelling new concepts for additional growth. Palais Events & Café Central in Vienna are booming!

Based on Group sales of EUR 951.1m (up 9.3% year on year), pretax profits (EBT) amounted to EUR 20.2m (up 30.9%) and consolidated profit for the year advanced to EUR 15.2m (up 24.0%). With developments in 2018 shaped by digitalisation, growth and a quality offensive, this year is already looking equally promising. www.verkehrsbuero.com

Our congress pros newly MedTech certified.

Compliance support for medical technology companies! Our colleagues from Austropa recently became one of the first PCOs in Austria to qualify as a Trusted Partner of MedTech Europe.

At the end of 2017, Austropa Interconvention – a Verkehrsbüro MICE Services brand – was officially certified by MedTech Europe as a Trusted Partner, making it one of the first professional congress organisers to receive this certification. The Trusted Partner seal of approval confirms that a company’s employees are aware of the code of conduct and work in full compliance with its provisions.

The classic sponsorship activities in this area are being replaced with educational grants, which are made available to health facilities. In addition, conferences that receive financial support from a MedTech member company must be rated as compliant in accordance with its conference vetting system. In future, the Austropa Interconvention team will be available to provide support in all of these areas.

MedTech Europe is the European industrial association representing the in vitro diagnostic and medical technology industries. The new code of conduct governing ethical business relationships sets out clear and transparent requirements when it comes to interaction between industry and medical specialists and healthcare facilities. Generally speaking, the code of conduct focuses on the topic of financial support of doctors and medical specialists for internal corporate events, research, and medical training and education programmes.

Discover Tallinn!

Estonia’s fairytale capital offers a fantastic blend of medieval charm and modern sensibilities. Conveniently, a majority of the hotels are clustered in the city centre close to the popular sights and meeting places. The city is best known for its stunning Old Town, a centuries-old neighbourhood of cobblestone lanes, gabled houses, Gothic churches and charming squares, all surrounded by a system of sturdy defensive walls and towers. The area, which is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the spiritual heart of the city as well as the hub of its dining and nightlife scene. There are, quite simply, very few cities in the world that can rival Tallinn for its well-preserved medieval buildings and timeless atmosphere.

Unforgettable MICE locations.

Tallinn is guaranteed to wow your guests with unforgettable new experiences. Imagine hosting your gala dinner or social event in the opulent Kadriorg Palace, built in 1718 for the Russian emperor. Or alongside the hull of the 1930s-era Lembit submarine at the Tallinn Seaplane Harbour. Or under the vaulted arches of the medieval House of the Brotherhood of Black Heads guild hall. Other choices include the city’s 600-year-old Town Hall, a century-old power plant revamped as the Tallinn Creative Hub.

Perfect size.

In fact, its city centre is so compact that most hotels, venues, restaurants and sights are within easy walking distance of one another. Instead of hassling with buses, taxis or transfers to get from A to B, you’ll most likely be taking a quick – and economical – stroll. A taxi ride from Tallinn’s airport to the city centre takes a mere 10 minutes, so in most cases organisers don’t even have to bother with transfers. Tallinn offers a great mix of 3- to 5-star conference hotels with quality/price ratio that’s far better than the European average, with chains like Radisson Blue, Swisshotel or Sokos.
